We're All In This Together!
Dear Animal Friend:
All of us here at Clay Humane want to express our shared concern at the COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts upon people and societies globally. At Clay Humane, we are fortunate in that we were able to implement an effective operating response to the crisis, so it hasn’t had a catastrophic impact on us that many other businesses are facing. We have had to cancel or postpone plans. We’ve been forced to reprioritize some non-critical needs. And we’ve been tasked with the duty of taking on additional community responsibilities in the absence of many programs affected by the pandemic. Like most of you, we have endured frustrations, setbacks, financial worries, and concern for the future of our organization. Our staff has worked long days and has worn many hats, as smaller groups and curbside care were introduced, yet we’re continuing with our core work and have made every effort to be around when you, our clients and supporters, need us. Through proactive planning, protective measures, and hard work, we have managed to keep every Clay Humane staff member employed AND Coronavirus free. We remain steadfast in our effort to not only care about our community’s animals but also for its people.
We are inspired by the tireless work of communities around the world doing all they can to protect lives and livelihoods, and we know we can help more, as well. We have, unfortunately, had to suspend some of our most valuable programs during this crisis, but are optimistic that, as we all return to a safer and more financial stable world, we will be able to pick up where we left off battling pet overpopulation and working toward a more humane community.
Normally, at this time of year, we appeal to you to renew your membership in support of our efforts. This year, as many of you struggle with the effects of COVID, that does not feel appropriate. Instead, we have automatically renewed each of your current memberships through June 2021 and waived your 2020 dues.
Thank you, as always, for your constant support. Should you find the desire and ability to donate at this time, know that your contribution will be used to directly help many families financially affected by the virus. Keeping our doors open, our staff working, and our programs accessible to our community is our top priority. Your help is always much appreciated.
We very much hope all our members and supporters are staying safe and following the best medical recommendations. Enjoy some extra time with your furry families and please do take care of yourselves and each other.
